SmartXide is a fractional CO2 laser treatment that uses dermal optical thermolysis (aka DOT therapy) to treat skin conditions like wrinkles and fine lines, hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores, loss of elasticity, and acne scars. Traditional CO2 lasers are ablative, which means they remove the skin’s surface layer.
We employ the use of Smartxide for the removal of various dermatological lesions (moles, skin tags, oil cysts, keratosis, etc.)
How it works
Smartxide DOT/RF Therapy exerts its effect on the skin that goes far beyond simple fractional resurfacing. The innovative synergy between the laser and RF allows for acting effectively and safely on various skin layers, and the overall results are achieved through:
• A deeper action in the skin • An increased stimulation of the fibroblast activity for new collagen production • A more pronounced tissue remodeling • A minimal post-treatment downtime • An increased comfort level before and after treatment.
Smartxide treatment procedure
The use of numbing cream on the treated area prior to treatment ensures maximum comfort during the procedure. The procedure itself can take from ten minutes to an hour for the entire face.
This system combines the CO2 laser and RF to merge the ablative effects of the laser beam and the nonablative effects of Radiofrequency for skin resurfacing. The Radiofrequency enhances the effects of fractional CO2 laser treatment by remodelling tissue in-depth, toning skin laxity and stimulating fibroblast activity to produce new collagen.
The resultant effect is the correcting of skin imperfections such as scars and counteracting signs of aging such as wrinkles and skin sagging.
In addition, the SmartStack technology provides precise control of depth of laser penetration on the skin, enabling the energy to be delivered into the deeper dermis layer for collagen remodelling with reduced redness and risk of burn.
Is the Smartxide procedure safe?
The exclusive Pulse Shape Design technology (PSDTM) enables the application of the Smartxide DOT/RF Therapy to all skin types, even among patients with darker skin, and in most delicate areas such as the neck, throat and around the eyes.
Is the treatment painful?
The exclusive and innovative combination of CO2 laser with radiofrequency allows for results and treatment comfort. However, everyone experiences pain or discomfort to varying degrees. Discuss with your doctor to determine how to minimise your discomfort during the procedure. Numbing cream is commonly applied before the procedure for 20 to 30 minutes. During the procedure, discomfort will be minimal and at most, pricking sensations may be experienced.
Post treatment & Recovery
Redness of the treated area can be expected immediately after the procedure followed by the development of micro-crusts as the skin heals after lesion removal. These should resolve in a week.
When will I see results?
For lesion removal, after the recovery period of about 1 week, skin will start to heal and appear normal.
