SKINBOOSTER INJECTIONS

Skinbooster injections also known as (水光针) are made of hyaluronic acid(HA), through micro-injections are deposited into the skin to deliver deep skin hydration and lasting improvements to the overall quality of the skin. By moisturising skin from within, Skinbooster gives a healthy, glowing complexion which is supple and hydrated and increases skin elasticity and firmness.

Hyaluronic acid is capable of holding 1000 times its molecular weight in water, making it the gold standard ingredient for skin moisturizers and serums over skincare counters.

Studies have shown that Hyaluronic acid helps in:

Hydrating the skin, because of the high water-binding capacity of HA.
Increasing elasticity because HA also stimulates collagen production.
Smoothening the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines.

Who is suited for this treatment?

How does it work?

At Calvin Chan Aesthetic & Laser Clinic, we use the Vital Injector to administer skinboosters made up of hyaluronic acid. Together after injection, it blends in to the skin layer and forms a “sheet” of HA which draws moisture and hydrates the skin from within. It not only provides intensive hydration but also stimulates collagen growth to create a radiant and dewy look on your face

What brand do you use at your clinic?

We use the Juvederm Volite Skinbooster to improve skin quality for up to 9 months. Juvederm Volite uses patented VYCROSS technology to improve skin smoothness ( fine line reduction), hydration and elasticity. Good skin quality is so important, it makes a person look healthy, youthful and beautiful. Fine lines reduction and improvements in skin texture and elasticity can result in a lower estimated age. The skin, being the largest organ of the human body is a major indicator of beauty. Skin textural improvement with Juvederm Volite can smoothen out one’s skin. Smooth skin is commonly associated with heath and a sense of well being.

How many syringes will I need?

This depends on the size of your face and the amount of hydration needed. A good gauge would be about 2ml (2 syringes) for the face and 1ml ( 1 syringe) for the neck.

How long does each treatment take?

Each treatment will take approximately 30 mins, excluding numbing.

Is there any pain or downtime?

There is some discomfort but due to the fine needle and the presence of local anaesthetic cream this is usually well-tolerated. Some bruising is to be expected, but this is usually minor and easily covered. Some areas such as the neck tend to bruise more readily, and thinner skin will tend to bruise more easily.

Are there any side effects?

As the procedure involves administering many tiny skin booster injections throughout the treatment areas, the likelihood of needle marks or bruising is higher. Depending on individuals, these marks may take between 2-7 days to completely heal.

Possible side effects include the risk of infection. This is always present in any procedure that involves a break in the skin barrier, such as through injections. As the procedure involves multiple tiny injections throughout the treated areas, extra care has to be taken to maintain sterility and this is best achieved in a clinic setting with the procedure done by a trained medical professional.

What results should I expect?

Your skin will feel smoother, hydrated. Skin reflects light better and hence looks brighter and more radiant.

How many treatments will I need?

With Juvederm Volite, you will need 1 treatment with results lasting about 6-9 months.
