Profhilo®

Profhilo® is an injectable treatment for the purpose of anti-ageing. Its main ingredient is hyaluronic acid (HA), which helps in skin rejuvenation, hydration and elasticity. What is unique about Profhilo® compared to other injectables is its ability to remodel the skin from within as it works to stimulate the production of skin’s natural collagen, elastin and proliferate adipocytes (fat) stem cells. These help to restore skin’s youthful structure and suppleness.

Areas where Profhilo® can be injected:

How Does it work?

Profhilo® stimulates bio-remodelling of the skin through three key actions:

The high concentration of HA in Profhilo® stimulates skin’s fibroblast cells to jumpstart natural collagen and elastin production in the dermis.
The HA in Profhilo® instantly boosts the structure of the skin giving it more volume and plumpness to counteract skin sagging.
Profhilo® enhances skin’s natural hydration, keeping skin dryness and dehydration at bay, and thus maintaining its suppleness and elasticity.

After being injected into the skin, Profhilo® naturally distributes itself across skin’s layers. This helps in counteracting skin laxity and also helps to boost hydration from the inside out, giving you a more youthful look. It also stimulates tissue repair processes, which can speed up the healing of acne scars.

Treatment Procedure

For face treatment using Profhilo®, a total of 10 injection points are needed. (5 injection points per side of your face.) Compared to previous skinbooster treatments which generally require more than 30 injection points, Profhilo® has the benefit of fewer injection points. This minimises risks to blood vessels and nerves while maximising efficacy through diffusion. This is especially advantageous for busy individuals who want to minimise recovery time.

For neck treatment using Profhilo®, a total of 10 injection points are needed as well.

What’s the difference between Profhilo® and other products for treating skin aging?

Profhilo® offers both enhanced hydrating effects and stronger regenerative effects thanks to the combination of various HA compounds with different molecular weight and structures. In addition, it does not have additional chemical stabilising agents.

Is the treatment painful?

There may be some minor pain and discomfort during the injection. This should be minimal as the needle used is relatively thin (29g). Other than this, the treatment should be relatively painless. There may be a slight discomfort during the injection process. To provide further relief and alleviate as much pain as possible, we employ skin cooling and you can also request for a topical numbing cream to help further minimise discomfort.

Is there any downtime after treatment with Profhilo®?

There is usually no downtime after treatment with Profhilo® and patients can typically resume their daily activities immediately after the treatment. Patients only need to attend a second follow-up session a month after the initial treatment.

When can I expect to see results?

Improvements to the skin condition can be observed after the first treatment. Patients can expect to see enhanced results after their second treatment, which is typically a month after the first session.

Are there any side effects?

Profhilo® has almost no visible side effects as the 100% pure HA used is bio-compatible with the human body. However, some may experience mild redness and soreness after the injections, but these typically resolve in a few hours.

How often is Profhilo® treatment required?

The effects of Profhilo® usually last for 6 to 12 months. For the best effects, it is recommended to repeat Profhilo® treatment at least twice a year.

Am I suitable for Profhilo® treatments?

Anyone who is suitable for standard dermal filler treatment is suitable for Profhilo® as it is reportedly safer than most other HA-based treatments for skin ageing. Can I combine Profhilo® treatment with other treatments/products?
